Water Improvements Project 2025
Uintah County, Utah
Administered By: The Division of Drinking Water
Project Cost: $2,352,000
Project Description:
Schedule A: On 3750 S, a new 8-inch HDPE line will be installed along the road approximately two miles from the intersection of 3750 S and 1500 E by replacing the existing smaller lines and running east along 3750 S. This portion of the pipeline will run east on 3750 S to the intersection of 3750 S and 4500 E where it will tie into the existing 4-inch line. That section of pipe will be approximately 5,280 ft and will include the installation of fire hydrants and connections, as well as several utility crossings, as shown in the plans. Also included would be on 4000 S, a new 8-inch HDPE line will be installed along the road from about 5000 E to about 6000 E. This portion of the pipe will tie into the existing 8-inch line at 5000 E and then run east on 4000 S to about 6000 E, where it will tie in an existing 2-inch lateral and end there for a total of approximately 5,600 ft and includes hydrants, air valves, and connections.
Schedule B: On 3750 S, if easements come through for crossing tribal land, the 8-inch HDPE line will continue west from the location where it stops in Schedule A to the intersection of 3750 S and 1500 E. This will include a PRV near 1500 E with the pipeline install and will require air valves, valves, fire hydrants, and one domestic connection. This length will be approximately 10,800 ft.
Water Quality Benefits:
This project will enable the JWID to provide water from its main system to the Independence area by connecting the two along Independence Road. Currently, the water in that area is supplied from a small tank directly connected to the Ute Tribe water system. Connecting the two systems into one will enable the opportunity to have a redundant source for the area should their tank or other critical infrastructure fail.
Project Funding: Wholly funded by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Drinking Water state revolving fund
